Counsellor – Lavendla TherapyI studied Hypnotherapy in a clinical setting at Chrysalis, approved by King Charles’s Trust. I studied counselling here. I have a CPD diploma in CBT. Psychodynamic therapy and REBT. My research interest is the link between mental health and modern vs ancient grains, and the relationship between gut health and mental health wellbeing. I am currently a MSc Research student at the University of Portsmouth. Besides this I have a CPD Diploma in Child Psychology, Grievance Counselling, Personality development, and Mindful meditation.
I qualified as a Special Needs Teacher with invisible disabilities, mental health, refugee, and community in 2014 from the University of Sunderland. I taught pupils aged from 7-40+ years with mild and severe learning difficulties (MLD &SLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Schizophrenia, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), common mental health problems, and physical disabilities. I work in education centres, hospitals, safe houses, and care settings.
I was a trainer at the Prison Services and the Pupils’ Referral Units (PRU). My clients had SLD, MLD, anxiety, common mental health problems, dyslexia and other mental health problems.
I was a teacher and counsellor to adults with PTSD and invisible disabilities who are speakers of other languages in 2013-2014. I was a trainer to Support Workers to work with children with invisible disabilities and mental health needs.
I am a Special Needs teacher and a Counsellor for children in home schooling. My students are aged 14-25 with invisible disabilities and mental health needs.
I received academic awards from Southampton City College and the University of Greenwich.
I am a qualified Journalist from the University of east London; I have worked in academic journalism focused on psychology, hypnotherapy, and motivational tools and as a community journalist. I have published educational articles in the UK, USA, China, and the Czech Republic. I have work experience in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
My transferrable skills and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds enable me to provide person-centred service. I can help individuals, young adults, and couples. I work in different countries; I can have an empathetic ear for diverse needs and assist my clients to practising ways to find calmness and lead the life they wish to live.
I use Psychodynamic approach to understand the client. I understand what the client wants from the therapeutic treatment and create session plans. I explain the plans to the client to create a joint development plan. I use evidence-based Hypnotherapy to bring calmness, add positive suggestions.
I can speak English and standard Bengali; I know basic Hindi and Urdu.
